As far as live entertainment goes, you can’t get more classically Parisian than a glamorous cabaret show. The French invented this genre as far back as the 17th century, though the version we know today really took off in the 1880s with the famous Paris club, Le Chat Noir. The proud French tradition of music, magic, burlesque, drama and comedy has sprung up all over the world since, thanks to the popularity of these shows in Paris. If you want a taste of Paris as it was in a bygone age, Crazy Horse can offer you a night like no other. Crazy Horse opened its doors in 1951 and is built in a former wine cellar on Avenue George V. Its glitzy reputation built steadily over the years and now it even has a sister show in Las Vegas. It is famed for glamorous dancers and just how many acts they can squeeze into one show – it is more diverse than others of its type, not just offering the famous burlesque striptease dances but mime acts, jugglers, magicians and singers.

Famous Faces in Dazzling Shows

More recently, Crazy Horse has enjoyed performances by prestigious guests to elevate the club’s profile even further. Dita Von Teese, the American burlesque star, had her own successful run at the club in March 2016, having already performed in 2006 and 2009. There was no better person to celebrate the club’s 65^th anniversary and her shows were sell-outs from the opening night. As well as Dita Von Teese, other starts to have graced the stage at Crazy Horse are Carmen Electra, Kelly Brook and Pamela Anderson who each featured in their own, fabulous performances.

Always tasteful and artistic in their delivery, the dancers at Crazy Horse are highly trained and skilful performers. With cheeky stage names such as Lolly Pop, Candy St Louis and Foxy Comedy, the club’s thirty-six resident dancers put on a memorable, energetic display. Each show-stopping performance, danced to classic big-band swing and old time music hall hits, beguiles audiences time after time. You’ll soon feel au fait with the refined world of Parisian cabaret and be making plans to visit again!

Make a Night of it

Audience members are encouraged to enjoy the performance whilst elegantly dressed – evening wear is not compulsory but warmly encouraged. Lasting 90 minutes, most nights hold two to three shows between 7pm and 11:45pm so there’s bound to be a performance that fits in with your Paris site-seeing schedule.

Not only can guests watch the show, but a dinner and show option is available too. Working in conjunction with eight nearby restaurants such as Chez Andre, Chez Francis or Le Fouquet’, the club provides a discounted dinner and ticket option for guests. These meals can be taken before or after the performance and include champagne or other drinks in the offer. One of the restaurants – Bateaux-Mouches – is a boat on the Seine River! Gently float along on a river cruise, enjoying your meal as the sun sets, followed by a breath-taking performance back on land at Crazy Horse.
