Le Baretto celebrates its 20th anniversary!

Our lounge restaurant at Hotel de Vigny celebrates a milestone birthday!

'Le Baretto' celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and rings in the changes with a new menu and other interesting changes.

A new patio / fumoir complete with an over-head canopy has been created in the courtyard. Why not stop by for an afternoon coffee?

Upon your arrival you will notice a fresh new look to our entrance and a few finishing touches to the interior which we hope you will agree are in keeping with the finery of the Art Deco interior which the Baretto is famous for.

A new wine menu is now available, with a larger variety of wines from privately owned vineyards and a selection of open wines to be served by the glass at a small rate for a maximum of pleasure.

But most of all the Chef Patrick MARTEAU and the Director of the Restaurant Philippe LANDAT have created a new lounge menu in the evenings starting from 6 p.m. An absolute must to discover as of September 2010...

The Baretto has also applied the new VAT decrease, now that the new law has been approved, in order to further improve value for money.

The nearest train station to La Vallee Village Val d'Europe which is on the same line (RER Lina A) as Charles de Gaulle Metro station which is just around the corner from the hotel and RER trains go direct from here with a journey time of 35 mins. Regular buses are available from Val d'Europe to La Vallee Village.
TAXI

CAR

New General Manager at Hotel De Vigny Paris

The announcement of the appointment of Mr Alexandre Scarvelis was made in March 2010. The two luxury Parisian hotels reside almost directly opposite each other on rue Balzac so they lend themselves to a joint management structure, which is how they were historically managed. The properties have quite a lot in common; they both belong to JJW Hotels & Resorts luxury hotels; both are located in the same quiet street just off the Champs Elysees and both offer quality service and amenities.

However, this is where the similarity ends. The De Vigny's ambience is quite different from that of the Balzac Hotel, having been designed by celebrated interior designer Nina Campbell, the décor is traditionally British. Walking around the hotel, it is easy to imagine that you are in a home away from home with exquisite antique pieces of furniture in every corner of the hotel. The Balzac by contrast is modern with a hint of traditional.

For Mr Scarvelis, having managed the Balzac since it first re-opened in 2007 after an extensive refurbishment, the transition to managing two hotels has been a smooth one as he was already very familiar with the property and staff whom have welcomed the new joint management structure.

You will notice quite a few changes have already taken place in the hotel, with a new PC web corner which is positioned next to the window so you can work in daylight. It features a traditional 18th century bureau and a tapestry covered screen for privacy.

Attention to detail is high up on the priority list for the friendly and professional staff and you will notice a few additions and changes that have enhanced the distinguished ambience throughout the hotel.

From the 21st July to 21st of August... a tropical paradise will be stretching across the streets of Paris in a sandy-shored display of summer

These sandy oases have been popping up all over the city since 2002 and provide a welcome respite to the hustle, bustle... and soaring temperatures of Paris in the summertime.

During this month the banks of the Seine are given over exclusively to the pedestrians and the buzzing metropolis takes on the air of an island utopia.

In the historical section of Paris, one such beach stretches over three kilometres from the Louvre to Pont de Sully - and comes complete with swimming pool, enormous concert stage... and a host of open air attractions - including: urban rock climbing, rollerblading, boules and Tai-chi.

Musée d'Orsay re-opens in Paris:
A must see experience for 2012

Located in the 7th arrondissement, on the banks of the Seine and just a couple of Metro stops from Hotel de Vigny, the Musée d'Orsay is once again open for visitors.

Following major restoration and restructuring, the museum has been generating rave reviews for its ambitious project to add fresh perspective to iconic works... and after visiting it earlier this year we can understand why.

Creative Goals: Refurbishment, Reorganisation & Rehanging

One of the main aims of this project was to reorganise, re-hang and redecorate the settings of the major works, in order to create a living exhibition and a cohesive blend of artwork and environment. Through this the gallery hopes to inspire a series of thought-provoking questions, in line with the intentions of the original artists.

In addition to this, the re-opening to the public in October 2011 brought with it some other exciting changes. The former engine house of this one time train station - The Amont Pavilion - has been completely renovated and reconstructed... and is now the grand setting for the European schools of decorative art.

Impressionists and post-impressionists

All these changes have seamlessly managed to add to the beauty of the museum's greatest assets; its extensive - and stunning - collection of impressionist and post impressionist work.
